South West

My favourite South West wedding suppliers!

Having shot over 100 weddings in the South West I have worked with lots of  incredible wedding suppliers at many amazing venues . Here is a list of my personal my favourite peeps and places in this crazy world of weddings!

Finding the perfect venue is likely to be at the top of any newly engaged couples list. With the venue playing a vital role in the success of your day it’s the big decision you really need to get right.

The Pig Hotel

If food and drink are high on your list this is the venue for you. With an ethos of garden to plate, The grounds are full of what they feed you . This 30 bedroom country house in Brockenhurst is original in every way. Go and feed the chickens, the pigs, sheep, but don’t get to friendly as they will most likely be on your plate that evening! They only do a small limited amount of weddings per year so you won’t find any cookie cutter weddings at this venue. Its a special place!

Priston Mill

I have shot this venue many many times and I never get bored of working there. You have a choice of The Watermill or The Tythe Barn. Both are fully Licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and civil partnerships – and with a village church nearby. The staff are great and the food has always been top notch!

The  Slaughters Manor House

This is a cracker of a venue. The house is a 17th century 4 star manor house located in the heart of the Cotswolds. With award winning food, beautiful gardens and 19 lavish guest rooms available you can see why it’s a firm favourite of London couples that want a English Country wedding. They also do a killer cocktails!

Whether you’ve been dreaming of your wedding dress since you were ten and know exactly what you want down to the last sequin, or you’ve never thought about your dress until the groom’s mother nagged, here’s my MALE opinion of some of my favourite bridal suppliers !

It’s no secret that music hugely influences the overall vibe of your wedding — pick the right band and your guests will be on the dance floor pulling mad shapes  all night long, but with the wrong choice, and you can bet your party will flop big time and that would suck!

Billy Ding and The skyscrapers

These guys are probably the one of the best wedding band I have ever seen, and I have seen lots. Talk about getting the party started and keeping it going. They play a mixture of Indie classics like Kings of Leon and then will go bang into a rendition Stevie wonders, Sixteen Tons. These guys will have your guest making crazy shapes all night long!

Forza is a very unique band made up of top notch hipster sessions musicians. These guys mix the classics with the hits you will hear on radio one. They are full of energy and will and their own  take on the classics are pretty awesome. If you want to keep your dancfloor packed all night, these guys are for you!

The Ace Band

The Ace band are a 4 piece based in Bristol but travel all over the UK filling dance floors. They play it all from Bruno mars to Adele and  Stevie wonder. Unlike most bands they will learn and play your fist dance song!

It’s no secret that photographers and videographers don’t see eye to eye occasionally at weddings and that’s shame. I myself have never had any issues with videographers, its all about communication and respect, we all have a job to do at the end of the day. I seem to work with the same videographers over and over again  as I get asked for recommendation from my clients.

Phil Smith Visuals

Although Phil is located in Essex I had to include him on the this list. This guys is one cool dude and an amazing film maker. He works solo and is approach is simple, to tell your story properly and truthfully. He is also a producer for BBC 6 music which takes his cool ratings through the roof.

Tom Dawson

I have worked with Tom on numerous  occasions and he’s one on the nicest chaps you could ever wish to meet. Tom is another lone film maker so he is much less obtrusive than many other videographers out there who usually come in packs. He will never ask you to pose or put your wedding dress on over and over again ( Yes I have worked with a videographer that did that to a poor bride!) He’s also mad  keen on growing his own veg on his allotment and brewing his  own beer , so what’s not to love!

Justine & Greg

Justine and Greg are fine art film makers . There films have that ageless vibe from a by-gone age. They will capture your beautiful wedding with sheer perfection giving you timeless memories to cherish. Every wedding film is unique and extremely special.

Wedding flowers are one of the most important elements of your big day. Not only do they provide color and decoration, but they symbolize life, growth, and rebirth. Good wedding flowers are also a conversation starter and after the food and dress, one of the things guests will remember most. The right wedding florist can help make wedding planning a breeze, while a difficult florist can make designing your wedding a total nightmare.

Flowers By Passion

As I shoot a lot off weddings in Bath, I do come across some of the same suppliers again and again and these guys are no exception. I regularly bump into Johanne as she’s busy running around decorating the ceremony venues or  reception tables with her wonderful creations. They also do workshops if you fancy having a go yourself!

Bramble & Wild

I have lots of love for this place, not only is it located in my hometown of Frome, its where my wife always buys our flowers from! they are known for their eclectic range of wild flowers so when I see their name on my wedding questionnaire that I send all my couples I know its going to be a cool wedding!
