Katie and Mark came all the way from New Zealand for their Canterbury nuptials.
It felt like no time had passed between when I was doing Katie & Mark’s pre wedding shoot in Bath and when I arrived at Katie’s family home in Canterbury for the big day. Some people just make you feel like old friends, you know?
Katie and Mark live in New Zealand and so I imagine getting married surrounded by their family and friends felt particularly special. My wife is American and so I know how difficult it can be to be apart from family, and how exciting it can be to get everyone together again!
I’ve photographed many weddings at home and it seems like I’m doing them more and more often. I think couples like the intimacy, familiarity and sentimentality of getting married at home, as well as the fact that they can then have total creative control.
Katie’s family home was big and beautiful and set quite the scene for their wedding – the family even has a vineyard! Have a scroll through this beautiful wedding, it was a cracking day and the joy was front and centre!
